Windows Defender working with WSUS server

Have a client with a small network (about 60 users) and they have been using
the MS Antispyware software with no problems. Recently I installed Windows
Defender on 2-3 systems. Only to find out that Defender is unable to contact
the upgrade servers to obtain the updates. We are now at 103 days without
updates. Thought it was first the firewall - but my understanding is that
Defender uses normal http to talk to the server. I have Defender running on
clients on another LAN - everything works fine. Difference between the 2
networks is a WSUS server. Question is: What do I need to do to allow
Defender to update? Is there a install or upgrade to WSUS that will allow me
to download and distribute the Defender updates, etc?

I am having the same problem. I have checked the options in WSUS in both
areas.
WSUS syncronizes, but no luck with the updates. Systems with users with
admin rights can go to windows update, and if they have checked the beta
software option, they can recieve the downloads.

There are many users receiving Windows Defender updates via WSUS, and have
been for a good long time. I don't believe that checking beta updates is
required, either. I haven't been doing that on machines in offices I work
with.

So--I believe your issue is in getting the admin settings in WSUS correct--I
wish I could provide better guideance, but please check my responses in this
thread, and post in the WSUS support forum.
