custom icon does not appear in favorites

Many web sites have need looking custom icons-Google-for
example to link to there sites. When I click add to
favorites these custom icons either appear only for a
short while and "disappear" or don't appear at all.
Instead you get the standard internet explorer icon. Seems
similar to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 257130
although when I click on the first icon I can't seem to
find the custom icons I'm looking for. Any thoughts would
be appreciated.

You can keep the icons via a utility called FavOrg, which will scan
your Favorites on line and then protect the resulting icons. Download
from Kelly's Korner, line 108. (Although the site is an XP resource,
FavOrg can be used by most types of Windows.)
