Cursor stability

two problems which may be related.

1. Cursor will shoot to the edge/top/bottom of monitor and it takes several
movements of the mouse to get it to behave normally.

2. When reading text the page scrolls to the bottom and the program has to
be closed and restarted for normal behaviour.

Can anyone give me step by step instructions as to how this problem can be
cured?

Hi,

First, in the control panel/mouse applet, check to see if the 'snap to'
feature is enabled.

Second, try updating the mouse drivers from the manufacturer's site. If none
exist, try reinstalling the existing ones.

Third, try a different mouse.
