Ctrl+Alt+Del

I had to do a complete recovery on my laptop. Now the
computer just comes on and I do not get the prompt for
Ctrl+Alt+Del. I went to control panel and users accounts.
The advanced tab is no longer there, so I cannot do a
secure logon.

Click Start, select Run and enter the following:

control userpasswords2

This will bring up a different user accounts property. On the Users tab
check the line that reads "users must enter a user name and password to
use this computer."

That will at least require a password to be entered. If this leaves you
at the welcome screen and you would prefer to use the alternate logon
screen where it is required to press Ctrl Alt Del before entering the
password, open User Accounts in the Control Panel. There click "Change
the way users log on or off." On the select logon and logoff options
screen remove the check from "Use the Welcome screen."
