CTRL+ALT+DEL

Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the CTRL+ALT+DEL window to
appear when starting a Windows XP machine? For some
reason I'm having a problem with this on a certain PC.
I've check and unchecked the ENABLE/DISABLE option in the
ADMIN TOOLS/Policy section and nothing changes to disable
CTRL+ALT+DEL logon. If I look it up in HELP, it tells me
to open USERS in Control Panel, click on ADVANCED tab and
click the require CTRL+ALT+DEL to Logon option, however,
there is no ADVANCED tab.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hi

Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del twice at the Welcome screen.

the reason you dont have an advanced tab is becuase of the policies set in the policy edito

you have to allow yourselve to be able to edit that tab... i dunno exactly the location of it.. however i do know of a registry entry that will give you the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen b4 logo

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value Name: DisableCA
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value
Value Data: (0 = Require Ctrl+Alt+Delete, 1 = Disable

hope it helps

I went to a XP machine we purchased a few minutes ago and
found the DisableCAD option in the registry. In the two
machines we purchased, the option is not listed. Any other
suggestion on where it may be located or what to do.

Thanks for your help.
