ctl alt delete

I have Windows XP Professional SP2 and just recently I am unable to ctl alt
delete. When I hold these keys nothing happens now. Any ideas what has
happened?

Chris,

With Welcome Screen / FUS enabled, pressing the CTRL+ALT+DEL opens Task
Manager. Otherwise, the Windows Security dialog appears.

I guess that you're unable to open Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) using the
C-A-D key sequence. If so, try running taskmgr.exe from Start, Run dialog.
Note that there are many viruses that terminate taskmgr.exe process
immediately.

Most computer keyboards have more than one of each of those
keys. Try the others - it may be a problem with one or more
of them.

Thanks for the reply. I tried running the taskmgr.exe from the Run dialog
and I get the message: "Another program is currently using this file". What
does that mean?

My assumption is that another program is suspending Taskmgr.exe process. I'd
investigate using Process Explorer (www.sysinternals.com), and follow-up
with Trend Micro's Sysclean package.
