Crop feature isn't working

Laura

The crop selection in the Picture toolbar isn't working. I select the
picture and then try to select the crop feature but it stays a light grey
instead of showing that it is active. Please help.

Thanks,
Laura

Is the image inserted through Insert > Picture > From file?
Double click on the image. Check the dialog box title and see if its "Format
Picture" or "Format AutoShape".

It opens Format Object. Is there something I should change it to and if so,
how do I do that?

Thanks.

You can't crop objects or autoshapes. You will need to reinsert the picture
through Insert > Picture from file. From there, you can then crop the image.

Thanks to everyone! I'll try saving as a picture. I tried to take a short
cut and did a copy right from the site and obviously, that didn't work.

Thanks again!

Hi,

A faster way is to select the object, Cut, Paste Special, as Image (png).
That will put it back in, in a format you can crop. Saves saving the thing.
