Creating submenus of the SendTo menu no longer possible?

Christian Stapfer

Under Windows XP I was able to create submenus of the SendTo popup-menu
simply by creating subfolders of the SendTo folder and moving certain
entries into those subfolders.

But that seems no longer to be possible under Windows Vista: although I
can still create subfolders of the SendTo folder, the entries contained in
those subfolders are not displayed as submenus of the SendTo popup-menu
anymore - only the folders themselves (i.e. their folder icons) are ...

Is there another (easy) way of creating submenus of the SendTo popup menu
than the one sketched above that seems to be no longer working - or is it
generally no longer possible to have submenus of the SendTo popup-menu?

Thanks in advance for any answers,
Christian Stapfer

Probably talking about Search. I know it's at the top of MY list of things
for which someone should be shot.

Is it missing from Vista? He is it's his most hated missing feature if I
read it correctly.

As far as I'm concerned, yes, Search is missing entirely from Vista. Even if
they had the gall to call it "Search", it's not. It should properly be
called "Filter", and it's not even very good at that.

yep - like many other newsgroups the microsoft ones get replicated not just
to Usenet servers, and also many bulletin boards, and in more recent times
to Google Groups.

If you'd like to view these groups in a more efficient manner, try clicking
this, or copy/paste it into your browser and try that. Outlook Express, or
whatever else you might have installed that handles NNTP directly.

Assuming it opens, use it to post a reply to this thread (you can find it by
sorting on Subject or your own username, GrannK. One thing you might want to
do is go into Tools>Options (in OE) and on the Read tab, uncheck the limit
on number of headers downloaded at one time. This will cause a rather large
number (~25,000) of posts headers to be downloaded, but they're just
headers, not the messages in full. Takes a few minutes. This is three months
of activity here, so if you start "lurking" to read, you can follow back
most of them to the original post.

Or raise the limit to 1000. If you post a question to this thread using OE
or some other standard newsreader, when you come back a few hours later to
see if there's been a reply, there will probably have been many hundreds of
posts, and if you limit the number you download too much, you risk not going
back far enough to find your own message.

Oops. I mean Ringmaster is the most hated vista.general creature!

Yes, telling the truth will often put you in such a position:

"Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In
the first, it is ridiculed, in the second it is opposed, in the third
it is regarded as self-evident."

My apologies, forgot which group I was in. But the setup in Windows Mail is
not much different from OE, and the link I provided should open it
automatically. In fact, Vista has the MSNews account already set up by
default.
