creating new Outlook profile

Two weeks ago I posted a message about getting recurrent requests for
network password in Oulook 2007 (Windows XP SP3). I've been trying
to do the new profile, but no luck. I found a duplicate personal
folder and ascertained that it was receiving recent messages (tried to
move my pst file to a different location). Before removing it, I
moved the messages to the main inbox, and then moved the 2nd personal
folder somewhere else (which Outlook shouldn't know about).

Then I tried to create a new profile. But now I still have a 2nd
Personal folder, and I am getting asked twice for passwords, and I've
noticed that I have duplicate messages for those that were in the 2nd
personal folder.

I was unsure about the instruction to "configure the new profile to
use the .pst file that was used by the damaged profile." At that
point I have 2 accounts --the old one, and the new one the
instructions said to create. Either one I chose ended up with 2
personal folders.

It's a real mess. How on earth do I get out of this?

You are not creating a new profile correctly. How to do so is well
documented. Read the KB. State what you are doing differently so we can
figure out what you are doing wrong.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;829918&Produc...

I thought I had followed the instructions correctly. I have 2
profiles and 2 accounts (one is new - created according to the
process). BUt I still get the PW requests with each profile. One
account has no email in it--this is the new account that I created in
step 8. Both accounts sent test messages OK. I'm going to reboot
again and see if that helps.
