I am a new user to windows 2000. I have a problem that
when I shut down, the cpu does not turn off. Can someone
email with a cure for this since I don't know if I will
find this area again

Thank you,

Make sure Advanced Power Managament is enabled both in the OS and the BIOS.

Check the Advanced Tab in Power Options in the Control Panel, and also see
what your BIOS is set to. It may be set to restart the computer.

Go to BIOS and select, shutdown when users select to
shutdown their operating systems.
