Couldn't access newgroups for days-Why?

I had been trying to get help from this newsgroups and also the one for
Microsoft Plus. I had asked questions and was getting some help. Then one
time when I came back to this site, because I had gotten an email notice of a
reply, I started getting a page that had the list of newsgroups listed on the
left but then where the newsgroup questions and answers would be there was a
message in bold print saying that this site was temporarily unavailable and I
should try again later. This went on for several days. I even tried to write
to Microsoft for help to see if anyone could let me know what might have
happened. This is the first time I've been able to access this site again.
Was this site actually unavalible for several days or could there have been
something going on with me system and, if so what could it have been?
I've had this happen before but never for days. Is this common? I use these
newsgroups quite often to get the help I need with Microsoft products and I
get extremely anxious when I can't access these newsgroups. Does anyone know
what the problem might be if this site wasn't down.
Thanks for any help anyone is willing to share.
Linda

I have seen some of the news groups be down for a few days, especially over
a weekend. The groups are hosted on numerous servers. What affects some may
not touch the others.

Thanks; do you by any chance know if it's been down from the 13th to today? I
see posts that were sent in on those days so I'm not sure if it was the site
or something going on with my system.
I appreciate the response.
