copy and paste in XP Pro

Hello there,
Has anyone experienced copy and paste not working in XP Pro, I must
reboot to get it back? A plain copy/paste in a notepad does not work.
What could be the cause? I am using office 2000. Thanks a lot, T

I have a vague recollection that some virus will break the
copy functionality. How is your virus protection? Up-to-date?
Have you scanned your PC recently?

Sometimes that even happens to me using a win9x PC. Seems I have to use
Ctl-V to paste once and then the copy paste works ok after that.

Hi there,
Thanks a lot. Anti virus is up todate and I have no spyware. It works
now after rebooting, I will try Ctrl V next time.

This has to do with some application having a lock over the Windows Clipboard. David Candy's application should determine the Process that's causing the problem.

Download GetOpenClipboardWindow.zip from here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/temp/GetOpenClipboardWindow.zip

Unzip and run the tool. Post back what it reports. For best results, run this utility during the time you encounter the Copy<=>Paste problem.
