Windows XP Pro and Laserjet 1300, when the printer is connected to the
computer, it continuously prints garbage. When the printer is connected to a
different computer it works fine. I have uninstalled the printer and
reinstalled with the same problem.

Try setting the printer driver to "Raw", the printer port (if it uses the
parallel port) to ECP, and if that does not work, to SPP (Set in BIOS). If
you are using a USB port, try turning off the bi-directional option in the
printer driver (Port?)

Are you saying that it prints garbage simple because the printer is
connected to that computer?

Or do you mean once you try to print something?

also try to update the printer drivers
