There can be a number of reasons for this, from malware to impending drive
failure. More information is needed, and some of that you can get via
Process Explorer, a free download from MS.
I will WAG it however, hardware issue, corrupt hard drive or account, virus
or other malware. Any can cause it depending on exactly where you are
freezing.
