I have my network setup to show the connection icon in taskbar, but it
doesn't show. How do I get it back?

If you go into control panel, network connections, right click your network
adapter, select properties, make sure the box is checked Show icon in
notification area when connected, then click apply

It is clicked, but still doesn't show.

Right click on a empty area of the taskbar and left click on properties and
untick hide inactive icons.
