Icon Troubles

When I bootup my PC There is no padlock icon on the local area connection.
Windows Firewall IS turned on. I have to go to (network connections/local
area connection/properties then click ok) to get the paclock icon to show.
Also the volume icon on the taskbar does not appear at bootup. The (place
volume icon in the taskbar) box is checked. I need to uncheck the box then
recheck the box to get the volume icon to show.

See if disabling the SSDP Discovery Service and Universal Plug and Play Device Host service help. For more information, check the following articles.

Thanks for the help :) I disabled the ssdp, it was set manual. I'll read
the articles and get some ideas there. Thanks again.
