Connecting wi-fi laptop to LAN

I have a new laptop with a wi-fi card so I bought a wi-fi router with
4 lan ports to be able to connect to the internet. Now however I would
like to have access to some folders which I keep on another computer
connected by wires to the router. Although the wired computer can see
the wireless laptop in the network, the laptop cannot see the wired
computer. On both of the computers I created users with the same name
and password so it should work easily. Although on the wired computer
I can see the laptop in the network I cannot access it. What do I need
to do to fix both the problems especially to be able to connect to my
LAN from the laptop.

Since you posted in a Vista newsgroup, I assume that you have Vista on
the laptop. This link takes you through Vista networking very well:
