connect DOS PC to a Windows 2003 file server in a native W2K domai

Hi

We just replaced our Netware file server for a Windows 2003 server that is a
member server of a native Windows 2000 domain. I have one DOS PC that
requires a connexion to this server. So I created my network installation
disks for DOS clients and installed the whole thing on my DOS PC using only
the TCP/IP protocol.
I currently can ping servers but cannot connect using the "net use" command:
it doesn't find the network path using wether the IP address or the server
name. It seems also that this old version doesn't recognize any
"/USER:domain\user" option.

What should I do now ? Do I have a chance to connect to a share on that
server ?

Thanks for any reply

No, you cannot connect your DOS-mode PC to a Windows 2003 server but you can
connect to any Windows 2000 server in the domain. The DOS client does not
support secure SMB signing which is necessary to connect to the Windows 2003
Server.

I already found the source of my problem and I can connect via "net use" to
the Windows 2003 server. First of all, I modified some entries in the
SYSTEM.INI file of the DOS PC to reflect my environment (domain, username).

Then I found out that the DOS PC sees my Windows 2003 server when the DOS PC
resides on the same LAN than the server.

I then only had to use the "net use" command to map a drive to a server share.

Regards
Nicolas
