Configuring Outlook Express 6.0 for Broadband?

Z

Zack

Hello,
How can a person configure Outlook Express 6.0 so
that it can be used with the Roadrunner broadband ISP? I
have tried to ADD an e-mail name with a broadband
connection, but it did not work.

Help Please,
Zack

Have you configured the account correctly?
Have a look at this page for instructions.

OE does not care what knid of connection you have. Just setup the email
account correctly using the email address, password, and email servers that
your isp provided you. If you don't know the email server names to enter
into the account wizard, call your isp or consult their website.

Zack,

RR works fine in OE. That said, whent the connection (modem, etc) was set
up.... in most cases, this is setup for you by the home tech.

Go to OE/Tools/Options/Accounts/Mail/Add. Follow through with the onscreen
prompts. For the time being (depending on which profile you are using), you
will need to use the raw user account name and password (which is listed on
your contract).

From there, you can modify and/or add the other users, once you have logged
into your accont via:
http://www.rr.com/flash/index.cfm

I am using Road Runner, which is fully compatible with Outlook Express.
Get with your local Road Runner tech support, and make sure that the pop3
server and smtp server information for your Outlook Express email account,
as well as your password are correct.

Same here and those settings are simple and are across the board:

pop-server.sw.rr.com
smtp-server.sw.rr.com

Yes the climate is nice, but the big crack is going to fall
in the ocean before too long and that will be a bad day.
But the surfers will like it for that 800 foot wave.

Have you seen the crack, it runs for miles. Looks like a
mini-Grand Canyon. Do a Google for long run landslides+
Hawaii. Those lovely steep cliffs were nice shore line a
few thousand years ago.

A year or two ago they ran a show on the Discovery Channel
(I think) about long run-out landslides. Lots of landslides
on land travel miles. Those near Hawaii show on sonar maps
for 30 miles under water. They also found sea shells on
top of mountains in Australia, 1,000 above sea level.

French Quarter, Ralph and Cacos. (sp) Hushpuppies, shrimp,
fish, hot sauce. Only reason to go to NO.

It is drier to stand out in the rain than to stand under the
awning in the humidity.

The French Quarter smells like dead people, except in the
restaurants.

<LOL> Actually, it is Ralph and Kacoos.
http://new.orleans.diningguide.net/data/d100191.htm

Their aquariums are nice, boat platform in the bar is cute and the food is
good; however, the tables are too close, they are way too busy and the food
is nearest one can get to fast food in a restaurant setting. Sorry but,
being born and raised here, one knows good Cajun cookin'.)

During the heat of the day, take a break and visit the River Walk, French
Market and/or Cafe Dumont. Sure to please all.

As for the smell of the FQ streets, what can you expect from 24/7 alcohol
consumption, not to mention what comes from those who can't hold it all in
and not to mention what goes on in the streets from peeking into the
swinging door.

BTW, if smells bother you, stay away from Pat O's entrance. If it doesn't
then, definitely visit their Piano Bar. http://www.patobriens.com/

Been years since I was there, during the World's Fair. Flew
a Beech King Air into Lakefront and stayed in the tall hotel
just outside the FQ, Very nice. My room was just about
level with the fireworks on the river. A year or two later
had another trip and the local dealer thought he'd do us a
favor and got our crew rooms in some 200 year old dump in
the FQ. The windows didn't close, the lobby smelled like a
toilet and I wished I was in the nice hotel.

But the Popeye's Chicken is better in NO than Wichita.

Truth is, it isn't a bad town and Houston is just as humid.

Hi Jim,

The Expo in NO was a great while ago (1984). And no, that was not doing you
a favor, as you now know. Those rooms on Bourbon Street especially, are
just as you have described and worse. The last time I stayed there was for
Mardi-Gras in the early nineties (as a treat of $300 per night) and have
never done that again.

Now for Popeye's, can't be beat here at all and never will.) Note:
Since the divorce, some Popeye's (the one's with purple trim) serve alcohol,
the rest don't.

Speaking of NO, food and Houston: Our (NO) Benihana closed in 1990 here off
of Bourbon, patrons now visit Shogun on Veterans, but we have flown 'many'
times to Houston (five hour drive) to eat there. Is off of Westheimer.
Humid or not.)
