conference room / resources / autoaccept agent

[brute force]

i am haivng so much trouble with this. through help here and research, it
looks like i need the autoaccept agent. installation has been successful. i
setup the rrooms and registered them. my problem is when there is a conflict,
there is no indication except when you double click the meeting , it will say
"declined". but is still is on the calendar looking as though there is a
meeting . if i were a user looking at the calendar, it looks liek i have an
appointment there. unlike direct booking , it doesnt say "cancelled" or
something like that. it looks like an appointment and you only know if you
open it and see "1 declined". i would think that it should look different on
the calendar than a regular appointment. did i do something wrong or is it
supposed to look this way? thanks for your time

Make sure that the permission level ON THE RESOURCE CALENDAR
is at REVIEWER only. Meetings should be made by "Making a Meeting"
and sending it via EMAIL to the resource for processing.

To cancel a meeting, you open the meeting on your own Calendar (where
you made the meeting) and CANCEL it. Then send that. When the
resource receives the cancellation, it will remove the meeting from the
calendar.

Yes, I use Auto-Accept Agent.
No, They do NOT need author rights using the Auto-Accept method.

i have read these and still dont understand the difference. and i know my
original question is still not answered. when i use the autoaccept, and it
declines, i still puts a meeting on the calendar like there is a meeting. it
doesnt say cancelled, declined etc. it looks like an accepted meeting. the
above links althought good have shortcomings. for example , they do not
explain that you should not check all three "auto" boxes in the resource
sceduling optoin of the calendar options. i had to figure that out thru
testing. i need a step by step approach and , mor eimportantly, an answer to
the previous question: why does it show like a regular meeting when there is
a decline. i still do not see a good readon to use the AA instead of direct
booking. thanks again

By the way you answered my post, it would appear that you are NOT
using the Auto-Accept method, but are instead using the DIRECT
BOOKING method for resources.

I believe these will leave the meeting on the calendar, but the time
will be free (I'm not positive, cuz I haven't used this in a few years).

You may want to repost your question, but be sure to mention
that you are using the DIRECT BOOKING method.
