Computer won't start

Okay gentlemen,
I installed a scanner and I am running XP. AFter
restarting the machine it entered sleep mode and was
turned off at the power button. It won't power
on.....please help
thank you
 
It won't power on? Do you mean nothing happens when you push the switch?
