Computer restarts and give serious error message (MUSICIAN)

Ok, here's what's happening. I'm running XP Home sp2 on a HP AMD 3200+ with
a gig of ram. My audio interface is a E-MU (Creative) 1820m and I'm using
Steinberg's Cubase and Ableton Live Lite. It doesn't touch the internet and
I'm running only legitmate software.

About a month ago I started having problems where my computer would restart
while I was in the middle of editing MIDI information in Cubase. The
computer would then restart itself and say that it had recovered from a
serious failure.

I tried system restore three times with three different restore dates and
that didn't help. Relucantly, I preformed a clean restore (wiped the drive)
using the restore disks that I had to make when I first bought the computer.

I reinstalled my programs using all the latest drivers and updates, and I'm
still having issues with this, though now they are more frequent AND
sometimes the computer won't completely restart after the serious error has
occurred - it just hangs on a black screen and I have to turn it off at the
power button.

I've already performed a virus scan, and it came up clean.

Any help on what might be causing this or how I can fix it is greatly
appreciated.

Hi

If you don't see any error messages, right click on My Computer, select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Startup and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen. Could you please post the Stop Code that
accompanies that BSOD back here? With that your problem could be isolated.
