Hi all,
I have 2 PC's . When I open a windows browser in one PC, I step on the
following selected icon : "C:\Documents and Settings\MyName".
When I open a windows browser in second PC, I step on the following selected
icon : "C:\Documents and Settings\MyName.MyPcName".
Both PC's belong to the same workroup.
Can someone tell me where that difference comes from?
Regards
Ragid

Workgroups have no bearing whatsoever on this. Do you have another
profile folder with just your UserName on the second computer?

If your profile folder is corrupt, or if you lose read permissions on
your profile folder Windows cannot log you on using your profile. If you
supplied valid credentials to log on to Windows instead of locking
you out because it can't read or access your profile folder Windows logs
you on and creates a new profile for you. Being that the Documents and
Settings folder already includes a folder with your UserName Windows
creates a folder named <UserName.ComputerName>. If in turn that new
profile also becomes inaccessible the next time you log on Windows will
create numbered profile folders <UserName.ComputerName.000> the next
time it will create <UserName.ComputerName.001> This is explained here:

Verify and make sure that you have full control on your original profile
folder. If your profile is corrupt you can copy data from your corrupt
profile to the new one:
