Computer keeps shutting down

My computer starting shutting down on it's own about a few days ago. Not
sure what triggers it. Just shuts down randomnly. Sometimes when I try
restarting. I've ran the system restore 2 times and then tried it in Safe
Mode. I think it went through alright for the Safe Mode. Ran Norton a few
times and finds nothing. I'm still having problems with it just shutting
down. Any suggestions. Using Windows XP. Thanks.

The #1 suspect for any problem of any kind on any computer that has a
Norton/Symantec product installed is that Norton/Symantec product. I
strongly urge you to try one of the many alternative products that are
available on the market. Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Bit Defender and
eTrust are some of the more reputable brands. Avast and AVG have free
versions that are widely used.

Other than Norton, the prime suspect for a shutdown, as distinguished
from a Shutdown and automatic Restart, would be overheating. Try
installing some temperature monitoring software that has audible
alarms that will warn you prior to the CPU reaching the shutdown
temperature.

Good luck
