computer is slow after a defrag......

Can anyone help me troubleshoot a problem with my computer? I did a defrag after doing some video editing and DVD burning and now my computer is real slow at start-up and shut-down. The defrag was rather extensive, said it was 60% fragmented. I have turn off the option to clear pagefile at shut down, but it still takes a really long time ( 2-4 min) to shut-down. It has even slowed down my start-up. I did a chkdsc at start-up and no problems were reported. Most programs take longer to start at first then speed up a bit the longer the computer is on.

Thanks,

Scott

You might search for and delete all temp files [*.tmp] and then run Disk Cleanup.
