computer freezes

computer freezes up while playing some microsoft games and
i loose control of key board and mouse. What can i do.
? Have to manually shut down my system to gain control of
my computer

I have a Compaq computer and the same happens to me .

One thing i found happens is if you did not disable a
messanger not the IM one . When you get a message sent
the computer will have trouble changing from the game to
the pop up . Go to the control plane and open it then
open Administrative tools. then click on Services and
look for a messenger and disable it it help me stop
having to do hard resets
