hi, could someone tell me if windows vista is compatable with dial-up
internet service? my friend just purchased this computer, she has dial-up
internet service because she is unable to get cable or high speed. we are
having trouble getting her hooked up. if any one has any suggestions, please
let me know. thanks,

Hi,

As long as she has a modem that is compatible with Vista and an appropriate
driver, a dial-up service should be fine. Go to the control panel and open
the Phone and Modem options, see if you can query the modem. If so, and the
report is ok, then the problem is probably not in the hardware.

Hi little coronita:
If you already use or would like to use MSN dial-up internet service, the
software is included in Vista for both 32 bit and 64-bit systems. It is very
easy to install once you locate the program. If you need info on installing
MSN just post back here and I will give you directions on how to install it.
