cod2mp_s.exe has stopped working

I recently installed Call of Duty 2 for Windows XP onto my Vista. I did this
on my brothers computer and it works fine no problems. I just bought this
computer two days ago. It is is the HP Pavilion a6130n. Here are its specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium (32 -bit)
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 5000 + 2.60 GHz
3070 MB of RAM
400GB Hard Drive
Nivida GeForce 8600 GT OC 256MB GDDR3

Thats all I really know if you need me to tell you me let me know what and
how to find it. Ok so what happens to me is that once I double click on the
Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer Icon it starts to load up normally but then when
it switches to full screen it comes back to windows and tell me this error
message "cod2mp_s.exe has stopped working". It gives me two options. First is
to Check online for a solution and close the program or just Close the
program. Here is the extra information it gives to me:

I used the CD that came with the game when I bought it back in XP days. Im
using a 32 not 64. It does the same thing for my World of Warcraft game.
Except for World of Warcraft it worked PERFECT no problems for one day and
now it wont even start it just gives me the same error message. And I
downloaded the Vista driver for my video card.
