Closing Ports

I know that this is easy to do but for the life of me I
can not remember how to close an open port in Windows 2000
Server.

I have a port open that I want to closev( port 8000 ) How
do I close ports through the registry?

You need a firewall to close ports. Or you can use port filtering within the
Network Properties and set filters on each adapter. This is not done through
the registry. If this machine is exposed to the Internet then I would
recommend a firewall.
