clicking email links

Valerie Lewis

When I click any e-mail link in my web browser it doesn't go to that email
link but opens a box telling me the mail client is not properly installed. I
have no idea what to do. I did not have this problem when using XP, just
since buying a new computer with Vista and Windows Mail. The latter is set
as default.

Thanks

Just because Windows Mail is set as the default email program does not
mean that all protocols have been assigned to it. Do this:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
