I'm looking forward to spending some time back home seeing friends and family, but I don't like the mad Christmas shopping rush I always seem to get stuck in when going anywhere in December!

Love snow though (when I'm inside ;))

Looking forward to it! It's definitely my busiest time of the year but I will be working with all my mates so at least we are all together.

(And no, we are NOT Santa's troup of elfs!)

Wow, I bet Christmas is an expensive business for you!

I love Christmas, but I am quite a 'winter person'. I much prefer this time of year to the summer :)

loathe it

hate winter

but, there are usually a few fleeting moments, just for a little while, each year where I get that same good feeling I had as a child at that time of year

hard to define, but if we could bottle that feeling and ship it worldwide to work 24/7 with everybody, we'd have world peace

Christmas is a Christian celebration but it's so ingrained into me I can't ignore it really.

but no, not fond of yuletide, I hate October to January, roll on Feb 1st and Springtime ;)

Too commercialised now for me to feel any glimmer of happiness on christmas day the way i used to feel when i was a kid...

Although love watching my daughter open presents on christmas morning....

I look forward more to new years eve now than christmas itself....

Nope ... not this year. :(

I'm not looking forward to it whatsoever ... Nettie was the one that did everything, well apart from getting me to help with the decks ... the house would make Santa's grotto look like a ghetto, with all the stuff she would get out, AND took a week to do it all. She would also do the outside, never quite got in the local paper as her sister used to ... electricity would cost £10 an hour to run, well it seemed like it.

Going to miss the grand-kids too and Xmas dinner ... that was my department, I always did the dinner, full Turkey and all the trappings including candles and such. Hectic day but very enjoyable.

No, going to be a sad day for me ... sorry folks, I'm not the only one who will not have a good Xmas ... I'll be going around my brothers' this year, but, it will never be the same again.

Enjoy your day, have a good Xmas. :thumb:

Like Mucks, its going to be a depressing time this year.

The family are meeting up in a couple of weekends time to have an 'early' Christmas Day before my Dad goes, I'm not sure i'm going to enjoy it, but I will put on a brave face and try to make the most of it for him.
When it comes to the real Christmas Day, I think I will be pretty miserable and a few tears will be shed - have to admit tears are welling up now just thinking about it.
Sorry to be so morbid folks, but its just the way I feel right now...:(

Will be thinking of you both Mucks and Adywebb :thumb:

Isn't a nice thing for anyone to have to go through, but having good friends can help a long way and you've got some right here

Not exactly been a barrel of laughs for me since me and the missus split up in July 2002 either :(

That's why I said I loathe Christmas.

My three daughters spend Christmas with their mother so that leaves me on me Jack Jones.

I do go for a lunchtime/afternoon drink with some friends but the evenings have been quite horrible. I usually have some brandy and play online games.

Spent 5 days in Spain for Christmas 2003 with my Mum, sister & niece, that was good.

And my Dad died in 2001, I miss him a lot.

For those of you with kids, treasure those moments each Christmas morning when they unwrap the presents, childhood flies by so quickly.

Once they start asking for clothes or cash, it's gone ;)
