Johnny,

You have "most recent updates including SP1", but how about your video
and network cards? WindowsUpdate might, or might not, update this for
you too. Make sure - check with the manufacturers.

You "checked my computer for viruses but none were found". Viruses
are not the only malware that can seriously bork your system. Please
check for spyware too. You need a combination of HijackThis and
Spybot S&D, and expert advice at SWI Forums (all free). Complete
instructions for using both are available at:

Your stated amount of RAM - 320M - is an odd amount, and is not an
excessive amount either. For a processor limited - 434Mhz is not
terribly fast - system, running WinXP, adding another 256M would not
be a waste of time or money. One of my systems is a 450 Mhz P2 - it
originally had 256M in it, adding another 256M really perked it up.
Memory is cheap - get some.

If none of these thoughts helps, try posting some more details about
your system. A good way to produce a nice detailed report is using
Aida - available free from <http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php>.

Cheers,

Chuck
