Changing IP addresses on win2k domain w/2 sites

Wes Shelton

I've got to change ip addresses for one of my win2k AD
sites. Here's the setup:

Site 1 - subnet 10.10.0.0, 255.255.255.0
Site 2 - subnet 10.10.1.0, 255.255.255.0

At site 1 I have our parent domain, mycompany.local. I
also have there the 'working' domain,
amarillo.mycompany.local. This domain spans across the 2
sites with site 1 having file/print server, domain
controller, terminal services, etc. Site 2 only has 1
domain controller. I need to change the IP subnet on site
1 to 10.10.3.0. What do I need to do for the domain
controllers/site configuration/DNS servers/etc? Is there
a guide anywhere to walk me through it?

After changing the IP in your LAN-connection, you will have to disable your
existing DHCP-scope and create a new one.
In DNS-server you'll have to change the IP that DNS is listening to.
If you have RRAS configured for a static pool, you'll need to change that.
If you're having 2 nics in the server and are using RRAS, make sure you
check the 292822 article.
Change the IP's on devices with static IP's.
Check TCP/IP-printers.
