Changed my router, how to get my network printer working again?

I have an HP laserjet 4000 printer with a JetDirect Card built in. My
router is now a linksys befw11s4 version 4.

Linksys will not provide me support on how to connect the printer over
the network. It was running fine last week, but we had to change
routers, so now it does not work.

In the add a printer wizard, it searches the workgroup, and no printer
is found. I don't know what to do really. I printed out the
configuration page from the printers menu, and it says the hostname is
dhcppc1, ip address of 192.168.150.5 and some other information, but I
don't know where to begin with it.

There is an HP Install Network Printer wizard that seems like it should
be easy to use, but nothing shows up. It browses for the printer and
doesn't find anything, and if I try to input the hardware address
(which is 08000964DF3C) or IP address of 192.168.150.5 nothing shows
up.

I'm running windows xp professional.

I removed the printer from the control panel, and downloaded new
drivers off the HP webpage, it is now shown as a HP Universal Printing
PCL5.

Thanks!

You need to change the adddress on the printer.

If you local network is 192.168.0.xxx subnet 255.255.255.0
Then your printer needs to be 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254

I would change it to something outside of the DHCP range of your router say
192.168.0.250 subnet 255.255.255.0

Your router, network printer and PC(s) must all be on the same network sub
net. Since you have stated that the printer was 129.168.150.5, you should
check to make sure that the replacement router is also using 192.168.150.xxx
network subnet. Linksys routers usually default to 192.160.1.1.

Nope. Linksys routers default to 192.168.1.1

Cheers.
