CD-RWs on DVD+RW burner

My questions is has anybody had any problems with a DVD+RW drive not
recognizing CDRW media and resolutions to fix that problem?

My system doesn't recognize CDRW media, Memorex 4X and TDK 10X were both
tried, along with CDR Fry's Electronic's cheap nonames. It did recognize my
Memorex DVD+RW media.

System started out with Window ME upgraded to XP Professional, then to XP
Profession SP2 (later via Widows Update). The drive worked fine for all
media prior to update of SP2 and Media Player 10.
