cd-rw reads full when it isn't

I use the xp built in software for copying data files onto a cd-rw disc. It
will work for awhile but then all of a sudden when I try to copy over some
more files the cd-rw disc reads full. I only have around 60 mb's on the disc
so why would it read that it's full? I have to erase the disc in order to add
more data files onto it. Does anyone know what could be causing this to
happen?

You have to reformat, or recover the CD to get all the space back. A lot of
them don't actually remove deleted data, and therefore you don't get the
space back when you do the deletion.

Experiment and see if that's what's happening. Then come back with details.

1. CD-RW media is notoriously unreliable.
2. The built-in burning software on XP is inadequate for most people.

CD-R (single burn) discs are less than 25 cents each. Roxio and Nero both
offer excellent CD/DVD burning suites at a reasonable cost.

In fact, Nero still has a freebie, but you have to look closely to find it
on their site. Try Google to locate it.
