cd rom not working

all of a sudden loading of cds arent working..says no shared files...never happened before..we went to download pix from the digital camera and found it wouldnt so we tried to reinstall the canon program and it wouldnt...last week we uninstalled mcafee and reinstalled norton...coincidence or a problem?
 
check your drivers for the cd rom in properties of the
