The laptops failure to find at boot a "new" working CD drive suggests
hardware failure, i.e. it is not in working order. (Considering how
cheap these now are, it's a surprise they last so long as they do:
but many break down within five years or so.) Your options:
1. Replace the drive with a new one.
2. Reinstal the old drive via / Control Panel / Add new hardware.
Because of probable damage we cannot guarantee #2 will succeed.

maybe the PC is telling you that you spend toooooooo much time
playing games, instead of doing some real work/home-work you should
be doing?

Seriously does the unit work? Pop in a Live-CD and set the Lap-top's
BIOS to boot from CD-ROM, if it does then you have a software issue.
If it doesn't boot you have to be brave and strong now:
CD-ROM drives can move over to the big CD-ROM heaven in the sky, and
simply die.

If anyone could help me thatd be great!
