CD Playing Pauses

I'm running XP Home. Every once in a while my CD player stalls for about 5 to 10 seconds while playing music, either my burns or commercial discs...there's no problem with data CDs.

It isn't the CDs because there's no problem in other players, it doesn't happen at the same point in any one CD, and the stalls are all of different lengths of time.

I use Axialis as my player, but it also happens when I use WMP.#9.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Have you tried using a CD cleaner disk to clean the CD rom dirve?
