CD not recognized

Computer (XP-Pro sp2 OS) no longer recognizing CD-ROM drive (Lite-on-ltr
52246s) -- Drive still seen correctly in bios and opens and blinks when
cd is inserted. Yellow exclamation point in device manager -- states
that windows loaded the drivers for the device but cannot find device.

Windows problem or drive failure? Thanks.

have you tried un-installing the device from the device manager menu and then
re-booting the pc to see if it finds it and then re-loads the drivers?? just
a thought.

Possibly, a failure to load the Upper or Lower Filters of a 3rd-Party
recording software program, such as Nero or Easy CD Creator.
