At some point I was able to use CDs and record to them
perfectly. Now, when I insert a blank disc, in My
Computer the icon of the drive remains the same--it
doesn't change to the CD-R icon--and the label changes
from "DVD/CD-RW" Drive to "CD Drive" instead of "Blank CD-
R"--although the icon and label changes when I insert a
regular CD. When I then try to burn an ISO to a CD (I use
the ISO Recorder power toy, though I don't think this
problem has anything to do with that), it goes through
the process where it shows a progress bar completing, but
then when the disc is reinserted it brings up the dialog
that it would if the CD-R were blank and when I check in
Explorer it shows it has no files.
Please help or refer me to help as soon as possible,
because I have other problems (hardware related) which
may jeopardize files, both file documents and ISOs on my
disk, and I need to copy them to CDs as soon as I can.
