Capturing from JVC GR SXM 330..HELP

I am trying to capture video from my analog camcorder JVC GR SXM 330...I am
totally new to this so please bear with me. I have the camcorder connected to
the computer via S video cable. When trying to capture in MM I turn the
camcorder on to play and click "capture video" and receive the following
message: " A video capture device was not detected. Verify that the device is
turned on and connected properly, and then try again"
I have a dell 8100, if this helps....I am clueless!!

First thing to check... do you have S-Video IN or just S-Video OUT. Look in
your PC manual.

Thank you, I will locate the manual this evening

The manual states that this is actually a TV-out connector but I can connect
the camcorder to the line-in connector, I will try this soon and hopefully my
problem will be solved! Thanks for your help!!!!!
