Tried to connect using firewire.

We are trying to download videos from Panasonic camcorder onto computer. Took
the advice in many earlier threads which said to use firewire. Installed
firewire card and connect wire and camcorder got the message, A video capture
device was not detected, verify device is turned on and properly conected.
Camcorder was on and properly connected, any other ideas on how I can proceed
to get video downloaded and then transferred to MM.
