Video capture device was not detected - but its there in devicemanager ???

When I connect my panasonic camcorder via firewire it appears in
imaging devices in device manager. Funnily though, it pops up the
autoplay box but its completely empty.

Anyway, movie maker says video capture device not detected. Any ideas?

Is there any way to completing remove the device from windows and then
reconnect it so that it rediscovers it ?
