Can't uninstall printers

D

Don Graham

I have an Epson and an HP printer, one connected to a USB
port, and the other to a parallel port. (There is an
incompatibility between HP and Epson such that if both
are connected to USB ports, there will be printing
problems.) I tried to uninstall the software for both
printers prior to reinstalling it, but am unable to do
so. I don't even seem to have an HP folder in my Program
Files folder. When I use Add or Remove Programs in
Control Panel, HP doesn't even show up, and when I try to
delete from within Printers and Faxes, a message
saying "Deleting..." appears and never goes away. Nor
does the program icon. I have the new software installed,
but how do I get rid of the old?

I had a similar issue, and this is how I fixed it:

Under "Printer Properties," I set the Availability to the
printer to be about a minute after my current time. I then
cancelled all pending documents in it, and it successfully
deleted.

Hope this helps!
