Cant Save Word Documents and Problem with Internet Explorer

I am having a problem with WORD. Every time i try to save a document it wont
work. The hourglass shows up and the WORD Icon in the upper right corner
turns white. I can open existing documents, but I cannot save anything. I
have even tried to save blank pages and it wont work.

Also, my internet explorer has been acting up. I cannot go to any webpages
unless i search from MSN (my homepage) or have the website in my favorite
places. For example, i would try to go to google and it would just stay on
MSN and do nothing. I tried yahoo and the same thing. I then tried my school
website and it did the same thing.

This problem began the same day as Windows did one of those automatic
updates on my computer...could these problems be related to this update?
Please help I cannot write my thesis with these problems!!

to download a simple registry fix.
