Can't run ActiveX controls

I'm having a problem accessing windowsupdate.com. Don't
know if it afffects other sites with ActiveX. I continue
to get the message that security settings do not allow
running ActiveX on this page. I've set and reset the
security settings in IE. I've even added the
windowsupdate.com and microsoft.com to the trusted sites
list. I don't know what to try next. Any help would be
appreciated.

This is a WXP SP1 machine.
