Can't read just a single e-mail message.

Is there a way to stop OE from automatically displaying the next unread
message after closing the first message??

For example, if I click the X in the top right corner of the message window,
the first message closes and the next unread message is displayed.

Is there a way to close the first message and return to the list of
remaining unread messages??
 
Is there some reason you're posting this question in a newsgroup for
Microsoft Word?

While as Suzanne has indicated this is not the place for OE questions, why
are you opening the messages to view them? Set the layout to show a preview
pane and you can page through the messages with CTRL+U. You don't even need
to open a message to reply to it.

I apologize. When I initially accessed the Office Discussion Groups site, I
searched the Outlook Express discussions for a question similar to mine. But
after signing on to submit my question, I incorrectly assumed that I was
still in the OE discussion group. It wasn't until AFTER I submitted my
question that I realize I was in the Word group. I could not find a way to
delete the question, so I proceeded to submit my questin under the correct
group - the Outlook Express Group discussion group. Once again, I apologize.
Next time I will open my eyes when submitting a question.
 
This problem (of ending up in the wrong NG after a search) is under
discussion with the developers of the Communities portal.
