Can't Publish with MSFrontPage 2000

Help.
Been using FP since 98, upgraded to 2000 to maintain my sites. All of a
sudden, when I click on "Publish" all I get is animation moving pages from
left to folder at right, no request for userID or pw. I have checked FP
Extensions on servers for both sites I maintain; they are OK.
What stupid thing am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Has anything changed (anti-virus apps, service packs) on your local machine?

Not that I am aware of. And the same problem exists on all three of my
computers. Hosting companies say FP extensions are OK, others say they can
access via IE with "Edit with MSFrontPage" but I can't get past "Publish" and
the moving files box.
I'm stumpted Thomas.

Can you open the site in FP via File Menu | Open Web? Make sure that you are entering the URL as:
http://www.domainname.com

I'm not sure that "Opens" it. I can go to File>Open and then I get a box
asking me to "type the Internet address of a document or folder, and Internet
Explorer will open it for you."
I enter either the www.andypark.com or a page, such as
www.andypark.com/Dates.htm and it takes me to that page but does not allow me
to do any editing.
There is a box (unchecked) that says "Open as Web Folder" and the options at
bottom include "Browse."
Any of that make sense? I still don't seem to be able to edit anything.

Do not use File Open (that is for local pages)
Use File Open Site/Web and enter the URL as
http://www.andypark.com/
- you will be prompted for your User ID and password and the Site will open
- if it does not have your host repair the FP SE and check the site permissions
