can't print fonts

Suddenly I can't print fonts whenever I try to print anything with my epson
1270 printer and windows XP home. It will print images and lines but not the
fonts. Really weird. It just started.
Any ideas. When I try and print a test page, all I get is the windows logo.
nothing else

Skip my post. Sorry. Stupid me, my black ink clogged. Never had a clog so
complete.
